Every hull on every airboat from 1000 Island Airboats is designed using molds developed by a marine architect from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
The two features that separate our hulls from any other hull design are the V Bow and Contour Planing Hull. It is because of these unique features that our airboats can travel over any ice conditions, from open water to ice to slush, and any variation. This design creates a pivot point on our boats that allows for an easy transition from water to ice and back to water. This gives our boats a distinct advantage over flat bottom airboats in the most challenging ice conditions imagineable.
